The New Steam Library is now available to all

Steam developer Valve has officially released its new library update after extensive beta testing through the Steam community.

The highlight feature of the update is, of course, a completely revised index of games you own in the form of the new Library layout. The new layout emphasizes your recently played games, as well as games that are popular with your friends. It also allows you to make custom collections of games so you can, for example, create collections of games sorted by genre, developer, or just personal preference.

The update also provides an easy way to keep up with game events and developments, which ties in with new event creation tools for developers to help them communicate with their user base. Events can include live streams, fan art showcases, community challenges, and other ways to engage and foster the user base playing a game.

Coinciding with the library update, Steam's Remote Play Together Beta feature is now available for all Steam users to try out. Users can now invite friends to join local multiplayer games online. The Steam Library Update is now available on all supported desktop platforms, including Windows 10, macOS, and Linux kernel operating systems.
